New Intake and Waste Collection System
Overview
GAME were approached to provide a solution for improving current intake capabilities, raw materials transfer, by-product collection and out loading systems alongside a newly planned warehouse building.
Problem
The project was part of a large site upgrade due to a need of improving facilities, capabilities and logistics whilst integrating with the existing plant whilst in full operation.
Solution
Included within the project was a new 60tph intake system feeding 2 x 100t raw material storage silos including a link to the existing storage silos inside, a 6tph silo discharge system linking to the existing cleaner feed system this included the replacement of the main en-masse feed conveyor. The project also included a contaminated product discharge route through the new bulk out loading system, refurbishment of an existing magnet system on the cleaner system and three new bins packing bins.
On the waste collection system GAME also replaced the existing dust house where previously by-product was simply blown into a building, a purpose designed collection system which comprised of a 140cu.m smooth wall storage silo fitted with a bin activator and a 65cu.m/hr transfer system to the bulk outloading area was housed in the end bay of the newly built warehouse creating a totally enclosed environment for outloading.
Result
Bob Gladstone (Managing Director for Silvery Tweed) states “The overall project was managed by GAME and I incurred very little disturbance in day to day operations during installation and changeover… I would have no hesitation in using GAME again or in recommending them…”
