Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Process Line
Overview
To design, manufacture, manage and install a WEEE (waste electrical and electronic equipment) process line.
Problem
To meet the current demands for comprehensive WEEE recycling, the client required two new process lines. One line which would handle domestic electrical waste and the other to handle CRT waste.
Solution
The WEEE is fed down two new gravity track conveyors with one line dedicated to handling Domestic and the other CRT waste. Each conveyor line has ten work stations where the WEEE is dismantled and sorted into differing fractions, components, metals, plastics and glass, to be re-used or crushed and recycled.
Result
As the waste was totally dismantled, far more of the separate waste fractions could be sorted and re-used. Not only were these fractions re-sold into the marketplace, but the client was able to send less waste to landfill, thus drastically reducing their costs.
